Retired pastor and Trinity member Frank Rothfuss has a passion for the people of the church telling their faith stories. In keeping with that passion, Pastor Rothfuss has agreed to lead a small group book study in the spring of 2023 on Evangelism for “Normal” People: Good News for Those Looking for a Fresh Approach. For many people in ‘mainline’ denominations, the word “evangelism” has a connotation of aggressive proselytizing, a means of arguing people into the Christian community. However, the word ‘evangelism’ simply means to be Gospel proclaiming, a vocation for all the people of faith. And there are many means of proclaiming the Gospel.
In Evangelism for “Normal” People, noted author and teacher John Bowen takes a unique look at what it means to witness to one’s faith. Evangelism is something that all Christians can do as a normal part of being a follower of Jesus. Witty, wise, and biblically grounded, the book challenges in a gentle way. The book also includes study questions for congregational use. Author John Bowen is a professor at Wycliffe College at the University of Toronto.
